Amazon have finally had their usage of drones delivery Amazon parcels approved for trials. Its only in the US mind you, but if it is seen as a success, then who knows what will follow. The approval from the FAA has taken some time, in fact Amazon applied for approval all the way back in last July.
The conditions in which the FAA have set is that the drones must fly no higher than 400ft, and remain within the line sight of the pilot at all times. How is that going to work I wonder without having pilots situated every few hundred feet. Its also currently illegal to operate a drone in the USA for commercial purposes. Surely, approving this for Amazon will kick the FAA in gear to get some proper guidelines for US UAV pilots.
Alibaba, Google and UPS are also in the R&D phase of delivering goods via drones. It could be an interesting year for the drone delivery industry.
RC Drones provide all sorts of amusement and entertainment to the hobbyist, giving the pilot the chance to see spectacular views and picture/videos theyd find almost impossible to achieve without. Thats all well and
